Yes, the law states that we can, despite the fact that we are an intelligence service with the focus on foreign activities. Our aim is to obtain specific information that - as it explicitly stated by the law - is of foreign origin. The view that such information can be obtained only abroad and hence the civil foreign intelligence service cannot operate within the territory of the Czech Republic is based on lack of understanding of the role of intelligence services operating abroad. The opposite is true: if we can obtain required information within the territory of the Czech Republic, we have to obtain them. This does not contradict the fact that the focus of our activity and the main area of interest is abroad.
